Pony Stories 112

26 Apr

Just checked my blog stats and got a visitor from Finland, apparently. Hello Finland. Did you come here looking for mlp roman legion, or spelljammer? Those being the two top searches that lead to this blog. Wonder if anyone has done a write up of pony spelljammer yet. Only one story on fimfiction seems to have spelljammer in the description, so might be an open niche there. My spellcheck really doesn’t like me today. It doesn’t like fimfiction, spelljammer, or spellcheck. So many red wiggly lines. Now for what you are really here for, two pony fan fiction review-things.

A Hiccup in Time by Pascoite

Fun time travel story. Very well written, as good time travel stories tend to be. I love the concept of a whole room full of the same person, time-loop copies, alternative universe clones, whatever. I just find that situation really funny to watch or read about. This story had some fun subtleties that got me thinking. Plus pamphlets! Very informative pamphlets.

A Puzzle Unsolved by presentperfect

This is a story that deserves the sad tag. Not horribly gut-wrenching sad or overly maudlin, just a sucky situation that isn’t really anyone’s fault. This premise could have been played for laughs or as something more surreal. Yet the author uses it for a handful of sweetly romantic moments. Even if you don’t watch any Agents of Shield or the other agent Coulson stuff you’ll probably enjoy this anyway. If you do watch any/all of that side of the crossover it just adds a bit more texture to the whole thing. I think this is going right into my Marvel movie universe headcanon.

Thank you kindly! I posted that story feeling it wouldn’t have any connection outside the theoretically small MLP/AoS crossover audience, but I’m pleased to hear you say otherwise. 🙂

Well, it’s still mostly theory. I’m a fan of both of those, so I’m smack dab in the middle of your small target audience. Just feels like something that would hold up without some of the supporting fandom.

Thanks for the review! I’m glad you liked it. This one was an absolute blast to write, but sadly, I can’t claim to have invented the premise. Uma came up with it as a plot idea for a collaboration project, and it never got used for that.
