On top of the game here. Actually writing this one ahead of time and scheduling it. Which I’ve failed to do the last couple of days. Gotta keep moving forward or I start slipping behind.

A nice follow up to the previous. Though it’s not marked as a sequel and both can be read without the other. This author doors a really good job with cultural worldbuilding. The friction of a unicorn construction worker is nicely handled, as is the pony who gets to know her. A nice mix of both race/tribe bias and the inherent friendliness of ponies.
There isn’t enough Rarity and Princess Twilight Sparkle stories. I don’t mean shipping stories exclusively, though I have enjoyed a lot of those, but just stories if the two of them interacting in general. Nerdy royalty and elegant fashionista is such a interesting combination to watch.
Fluffy Twilight and Rarity shipping goodness. It was a fun short read. If you don’t like fluffy shipping you won’t like this. If you do enjoy that sort of thing this is a nice popcorn snack of a treat.
Nobody seems to really consider how powerful Shining Armor’s magic shields should be. Shining Armor in good health actively casting a shield spell should be pretty much invincible. Fair warning, this uses Faust as creator deity. Specifically as Celestia and Luna’s mother. Though it only is a brief mention once or twice.
The first ten chapters of this were a struggle to get through. I almost put it down a half dozen times. The writing was just too poor. And I really like Changeling stories so that’s saying something. On the other hand I stayed up late to read straight through the last ten or do chapters, so obviously it it better. It still isn’t a great story, but if you can get through the first half you’ll probably enjoy the second part at least a little. Not that I’d recommend that unless you really like Changeling stories. The ending was decently satisfying, but the epilogue was just disappointing. Somewhat pointless sequel bait that really should have been removed. Another downside is there wasn’t a whole lot of the worldbuilding which is the reason I like Changeling stories so much.
Story averages out as decent, but the first half of it was really not worth it. So, not recommended. Except for one of the best pony names ever. The sorceress Meringue Le Fay.
