Pony Stories 606

05 May

I was sorting my Calibre library of ponyfics and downloading some stories to fix their covers. Which involves copy/paste of urls leading me to the realization that Pony Age: Origins is one of the oldest stories on FimFiction. It’s got the number 163 in the address. Publish dates are Dec ’12 to Oct ’13. Which is over three years old at this point. Jeeze. In other news, glad at least a few people enjoy the brief peeks into my current pony/fimfiction themed XCOM2 game. It has been fun seeing how things work out. Like the mission to ‘rescue’ Sunset Shimmer is basically a trap, as is the very next mission after that. Or the fact that I’ve got Applejack as a engineer who stays at the base to take care of the day to day stuff while Big Mac is the one who goes out on world-saving adventures.

A Moment in the Snow by Vertigo-01

Average fluff.

Something Stuck Up In the Chimney by kudzuhaiku

Eh, not bad. Not very pony. Hard to picture a young pony that gets treated like we hear about from the orphan. At least not in Equestria that is even in shouting distance of the show. It would also be a lot stronger if it had gone on to actually show Princess Celestia having trouble with the colt. I mean, otherwise the moral of the story (intended or not) is ‘you shouldn’t abuse children’ which I think we all kind of already understand. I hope?

The Perfect Cure for the Common Cold by Titanium Dragon

Very sweet. Though my favorite bit was the last little exchange between Rarity and AJ. Very much in character.

Dusk by Titanium Dragon

Pretty good. Very much a continuation of the story Dawn, which I read again just before this. The two are really one story about the sisters.
