I think I’m out of material from the road trip. Good thing I have another one coming next month to generate more! Hopefully I will be able to get enough backlog to schedule two weeks of posts for the trip.
Dialogue speaks for itself (google docs) by Scott Mence (aka Inquistior M)
A good bit of writing advice. I wish I had gotten to it sooner. Had downloaded (or known about it anyway) a long while ago but only read it recently. Quite a bit above the typical “how to write” books and articles I’ve come across. Nothing really profound or complex (because the best writing is simple and clear after all), just solid writing skill explanation I would be happy to recommend to anyone starting to learn how to write.
The Empty Hand by C.J. Zimmerman
Good short story. Self contained, to the point, and made me want to know more without feeling incomplete. A pinch of Lovecraftian horror at the end, but just a bit to spice things up just enough to be interesting.
