Pony Stories 671

06 Nov

Eh, nothing to put here. Just looks weird if I don’t have something before the actual reviews. Tomorrow should have actual content in the intro bits. Maybe. No promises. Might do the bit about silent movies and the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Maybe.

Taken for Granite by Cloudy Skies

Enjoyed it more or less. Decent shipping story, right on the border of romance but doesn’t quite make it. Runs into the problem I have in that my brain has trouble fitting Pinkie Pie and romance together. I can swap and match the rest of the mane six and most secondary characters, but for some reason I have a hard time fitting Pinkie Pie in romantic situations. So, I liked this despite that. Was kind of weird to get a story that brings in Pinkie Pie’s family before Maud and Limestone and the rock farm.

The Pony Pull by Admiral Biscuit

It’s another wonderful slice of life with Admiral Biscuit’s version of ponies. So I enjoyed it quite a bit. Just don’t have much else to say that I haven’t said about his stuff before. So you should go read it.

Military Wishful Thinking by Scratchpad

Cotton candy story. Fluffy and shallow, but enjoyable. I liked the part where Twilight explains her plan for the theoretical situation is to make as many metal razor blades as possible and seed them into tornadoes to attack the enemy with. Young cheerfully violent Twilight is adorable. Not to mention Celestia’s mention of the “Argh! Argh! It burns!” treaty. I’ve now spoiled like one third of the humor in the story. Maybe as much as half. Sorry about that.
