Pony Stories 681

30 Nov

This should be a Wednesday post. Last day of the month too. Which means time to flip the calendar over to the next month. Which will be the Princess Luna pin-up given I put her there for the winter solstice. Hmm. Going to need a new wall calendar for 2017.

The Princess of Pool by billymorph

Princess Celestia hustles Applejack. I saw it coming, and it was hilarious seeing the build-up. Applejack, your granny would be so disappointed in you. Princess Celestia was practically telling you what she was doing. I will admit I was a bit confused at who all was involved in the pool game at first. I thought it was just the two of them playing when it was actually teams. Team Princess and Team Pony. Twilight and Celestia versus Pinkie Pie and Applejack. I like that the author didn’t feel the need to cram in all of the mane six into the story. Not enough fanfic goes for the middle ground between tight focus on one (or two for shipping) and all six. Also had a good dose of Twilight putting Celestia on a pedestal and Celestia angsting over that fact, but with a happy ending.

The third book of the epic multi-author trilogy about the extra-dimensional world-conquering adventures of Princess Celestia. Or something. I found it moderately amusing, but somewhat bland. I think it needed a bit more over the top-ness or maybe the running gag is just losing its impact.

Decent. Not as wacky as I was hoping. Just Princess Cadance making out with someone when she gets drunk. Someone who is not Shining Armor, mind you. Though I did like the touch of Cadance asking Princess Celestia to turn off the sun. Most stories that would be morning headache nonsense, but in ponyland it gains a little something in amusement.
