Pony Stories 766

09 Jul

Hopefully I will be on my way to my face-to-face Dungeons & Dragons monthly game when this goes live. Will be nice to have some gaming this week. Might even get that magic sword, if the party can stay focused for longer than ten minutes and the other PCs can stop dying like flies for, like, twenty minutes.

Eternity by Taialin

Character study of Fluttershy, and to a lesser extend Rarity. No real story in the text on the page. More or less just one scene that is pulled off well enough. Predictable in some ways but I could feel the sincerity to it, and that’s not nothing. Summing it up as ‘Fluttershy is sad when animals die’ is trite and about as useful as summing up Star Wars as ‘farmboy fights against evil authority’. Technically true but hardly how one would do it.

Inquiry by Rao the Red Sun

I liked it. Fairly standard story about Princess Twilight Sparkle struggling with becoming a princess but I felt it kept fairly true to all the characters involved. You could do a lot worse for some nice easy reading slice of life.

Beer and a Knife Fight 3: Beer Hard With a Vengeance by PresentPerfect

This was wonderful. Not quite as surreal zany as the previous two, but what could be? The Applejack parts were my favorite, and I don’t usually enjoy character (destruction? slander? Not sure what verb to put there) but this was near perfect. If you’ve read the first two, you should read this. If you haven’t read the first two… You should, then read this.

Destruction? Slander? When it comes to Applejack, I don’t know which I prefer. :V

Is it slander if it’s true? šŸ˜‰

Well, I’m *pretty* sure Applejack can read. So I think it would technically be slander.
