Happy Halloween for those that celebrate it. Two short ones and a long rambling review today. Which is nice. Been a while since I’ve run into a story that got more than a few lines out of me as a reaction. I’m too lazy to push out a lot of stuff for most stories, but I do enjoy writing the longer form stuff when it happens. On a completely different subject. Anyone else find the notifications for being followed on FimFiction kind of weird? Just a (name) is watching you, with a eye next to it. I feel like the Illuminati, or some elder god is watching my every move.

Woo! Another excuse to be lazy and fill up the empty review buffer a bit. Was pointed at someone else who has done pony reviews. They’ve done episode, comic, and fan fiction reviews. I’ve only added the ponyfic reviews to the big master list as per my idiom. Full list of stories they’ve covered below the break. Now for some review list clean-up. One of the stories today, and several of the stories tomorrow will be ones I read a long while ago and apparently never typed up my reactions for them. The things we discover when sorting stories into the new bookshelf system. So I’ll be re-reading them and giving a sort of new/old review. Today’s exploration of the forgotten past is Applejack is Full of Squirrels. In other news, time for another survey. anyone enjoying the redirection posts over on Fimfiction? As in, is that now the primary way anyone is now getting to these posts instead of bookmarks/address typing? Also, piece of trivia. I cannot repost a review of Martial Bliss without giving it another read. Still hilarious.

Pony Stories 257

Most of the earlier fanfic reviews I did were really long. Back when ponyfic was a brand new thing to me and I was enjoying some of the more interesting stories available. Starting with the stuff Chris recommended over on One Man’s Pony Ramblings was a very good way to start reading fan fiction. Below the break is three incredibly short reviews. It’s like you can watch the before and after shot of how involved my reviews used to be compared to how they are now! Good thing I’m going back to reading longer stories. Hopefully I’ll have more to say about them. Of course I started with re-reading stories, so it’s kinda one step forward one step back. Good news, both Life and Times of a Winning Pony and The Celestia Code were just as good the second time through.

Pony Stories 256

In honor of the great number 256 post I present to you brand new Jetfire writing! Ta-da! Okay, it’s just a little review he did of a story. If he does one or two more I might have to give him a spot on the big master list. In other news, I’m kinda liking doing the R4 posts over on FimFiction. It’s nice and organized. Plus it lets me double-check to make sure that my cablire library and the big master review list are accurate as I go along. Even if it means I’m cross-checking four different things while I do each post. It’s a nice balance. I get to be rambling and incoherent over here, and over there I can be neat and organized. Only remaining problem is that my ‘have read’ bookshelf that links back to my blog sends notifications when I put stories on it. Which is nice, since it lets authors know I’ve read their story. On the other hand I normally click it when I’m writing the posts which is a while before it actually goes up so I have this worry that they’ll check the blog here before the review of their story is live. Yep. The crushing struggles of my life are so very trivial.
