Pony Stories 912

Does anyone else find themselves reading a story slower when they know they are getting near the end and don’t want the story to stop? I’m finding myself doing that right now for a incomplete ponyfic I’m reading because I know there won’t be a satisfactory ending, because the story isn’t finished.

Title: What Dreams Are Made Of
Author: Posh
Finished it: Yes
Liked it: Neutral
Saved it: No
Good Thing: I do like cosmic horror Flurry Heart, even if it’s just by implication.

Title: My Kind If Crazy
Author: Novel-Idea

Good Thing: Very good characterization of Pinkie Pie, one of the best I’ve ever read.

Title: Hang
Author: AShadowOfCygnus
Finished it: Yes

Good Thing: Decent job creating a sense of the time the story is set in.

Pony Stories 911

Emergency! The number of the post reminds me of something else and I find unintended references kind of amusing.

Ahem. Onto more important things. Like ponyfic. More minimalist reviews.

Pony Stories 910

I’m not sure I’m going to continue using the minimalist review long-term. On one hand, it’s good for stories I don’t have to say a lot about but still want to mention I’ve read. On the other, it doesn’t actually let me say much about the story. On the gripping hand that’s kind of the point as a negative review for fan fiction is sometimes like kicking a puppy. At least for me.

Title: War Journal Of The Second Equestrian Revolution (Second-Grader Rarity Belle Commanding)
Author: Estee
Finished it: Yes
Liked it: Neutral
Saved it: Yes
Good Thing: Does a good job foreshadowing Rarity’s talent/cutie mark without being obvious about it.

Title: A Cute Smile, with Some Fang Showing
Author: Aragon
Finished it: Yes
Liked it: Yes
Saved it: Yes
Good Thing: Very silly and cute.

Title: Even Emvoweling
Author: ChibiRenamon
Finished it: Yes
Liked it: Yes
Saved it: Yes
Good Thing: Just the right amount of silly for my tastes.
