Throwing down the gauntlet

Fuck it. I’ve whiffled on it before, even taking a stab at it, but I’m going to declare my intentions because tossing them out in public will help motivate me.

I’m going to attempt the impossible.

I’m going to read everything on my read later list before Bronycon.

FimFiction estimates that’ll take 22 weeks, but I’m not sure it actually takes into consideration eating, sleeping, and other human weaknesses. On the other hand, I bet some of those 4000+ stories aren’t good enough to actually finish.

New Reviewer 2

Another new reviewer! Of which I know nothing about since I was in high productivity mode and didn’t even skim the reviews as I added them to the BMRL. They did seem longer form than most.

New Reviewers

Today we have something I haven’t done in a while! New reviwer that I found! Who is no longer doing reviews and hasn’t been seen on the site since the middle of 2017. Each review post is about a single story and looks rough but sincere. Also, I get to be their 100th follower! Because I follow people who do reviews on the off chance they put out another one. Which, mind you, is exceedingly unlikely in this case but I couldn’t resist the allure of being the 100th one.

Pony Stories 903

More from the leftover bin. Two stories from Soufriere’s series about Sunset Shimmer having depression. Though one is a non-canon. So, basically, don’t read either of them unless you’ve been reading the series up until now? Which makes reviewing them kind of pointless I guess but I typed them up at some point in the past and could use more actual content for the blog.

  • One Does Not Deny A Lady by Soufriere
  • Minor Relapse by Soufriere

Movie: A Quiet Place

I liked it. Interesting how different a movie feels with (almost) no spoken dialogue and no noticeable soundtrack. This is the good kind of artsy movie. Someone who tries something interesting and off-kilter and makes it work. I’d recommend seeing it. Though I watched it late at night (early morning really) by myself in a dark room. Which did a good job enhancing the tension of the whole thing. I’d recommend getting close to that ideal. Though, if you can watch it with someone I always recommend that.

Now for some thoughts about specific parts. Spoilers ahead.
