I think I’m going to start reading the 1.5 million word fanfic I downloaded out of self-defense pretty soon. I won’t have to write up anything about my reading for like a week because that will take so long to read. Definately going to limit my reviews to the stories I found interesting when I switch things up next year.

 

Pony Stories 53

This will wrap up the batponies. I voted several days ago, actually almost a week by the time this post actually goes live. Almost like time travel writing something up, typing it up days later, then scheduling it to actually show up on the blog days after that, all to be read who knows how far into the future. Yet I keep using tenses as if these words could be fixed in a specific point in time. Which all adds up to… I shouldn’t write these little intro blurbs just after watching Doctor Who.

 

Pony Stories 52

Almost done with my thoughts about the batpony stories. This has really drove home the fact that a lot of stories I just don’t have much to say about. Especially the bad or mediocre stories. Next year I’m planning to keep a list of all the stories I read, but only do review type things for the ones that really grab me. Also going to start doing proper reviews with actual structure and at least somewhat objective analysis. Also will let me keep more current on my list of stories read instead of lagging behind because I have been slow on writing/typing up the reivew for each one.

 

Pony Stories 51

Feels just like old times. Backlog of story thoughts to type up numbered in the dozens. Actually having the content to put out a post every day. Reading a half-dozen short fanfics a day. Pity the level of quality isn’t all that high, on average. Oh well. Getting some good writing instruction in the ‘how not to do it’ vein. Seeing different ways to mess up is pretty educational.

 

Pony Stories 50

Huh. I remember (vaguely) when I hit 50 posts on this blog. Now I’ve got 50 posts of a single subject. Guess just chipping away at posting adds up after a while. Anyway, back to batponies. As of writing this post I’ve gotten through all the stories I’m planning to read, think I read about 2/3rds of them, not counting the ones I started and didn’t finish. Also stuck to just the fanfics I could download from fimfiction.net since getting epubs to read on my kindle is the easiest way for me to read. So gotten through all the ones I’m going to read and voted on my three top ones. Be interesting to see if any of them get the top spot when the contest is wrapped up. Another fun trivia fact. My library of pony fanfiction I’ve read is nearly 300 stories large. All with edited metadata and downloaded covers from fimfiction that I had to do manually. I really like organizing things.
